And CCS Responds

And here is a snip from an email I sent on 8/3/2011, just prior to my "meeting" with Michele VanDyke, Cyndi Blake and Steve Tankovitch to shut down my "independent analysis" operation.

Met with Dept of Education Investigator on Oct 31.

I had a request to meet with the State Auditor people, so a meeting was setup for October 31.  When I got there, a person from the Federal Dept of Education was there.  Justin Burt is a special investigator for the DOE, and is trying to find out what is going on at Columbus schools.   I also met with Robert Smith again, who is with the Special Investigative Unit of the Auditor of State.  We discussed the investigation so far.  It does not seem as if the investigation has progressed much beyond what I found out in late 2011 / early 2012, just before I retired.  Is this because the current administration at KW is stonewalling the request for data?  Not sure.  I am sure that any of the analysts currently employed at CCS will be very concerned about their jobs, and that any SUSPECTED contact with outside investigators will bring swift and terrible retribution by Michele and friends.  The analyst position has no union protection, only civil service, and we have found over the years that civil service protection is about equal to none at all.  And god knows, the CSCSA is no friend of Kingswood employees.  I doubt Michael Taylor would lift a finger to help out an analyst in trouble.

Also found out that that stinking liar Tankovitch DIDN't take a pay cut with his demotion from Executive Director.  The State Auditor people had a contact he and Gene signed stating he would take a demotion to Director but keep his old salary!  And how he whined at KW about having to take a pay cut!

So, the general air at my latest interview seemed to invite that notion that unless something new happened, Tankvoitch was going to get away with his little games.

October 17th, 2012 - ripple effects.

The boards decision not to go to the public for a levy this year, due to the then breaking Dispatch story about the Tankovitch data scrubbing - that bill comes due with a thud!

OK - catching up from being on vacation.

The $100,000.00 dollar lawyer strikes again!  Lies, more lies and damn lies! If there was a "policy" at CCS to withdraw students with 10 days of absences, I would have written and distributed the report! THERE WAS NO POLICY! All the "scrubbed" students were hand picked by Tankovitch to maximize impact for the district - not according to some imaginary "policy". The proof is finding out how many students with passing test scores and 10 days of absences were withdrawn - very few!

Here is a story from October 8th.  I did not realize this would be an issue in the "data scrubbing".
